BOBBY BOGNAR
ROCK STAR • TV PERSONALITY

Bobby Bognar is a singer, songwriter, actor, and television personality best known for leading his four-piece rock band, The Piper Downs.

Bobby has placed songs on many national TV shows, including "Drake and Josh," "Zoe 101," "JAG," and "ICarly." He produced the Wheat From Chaff Music Festival (1999-2004) and its accompanying CDs.

Are The Piper Downs are the best damned band on earth? Three guys and a chick drummer who kick ass, this four piece met while students in Virginia. A quick move to Los Angeles, four national and one Australian tour, and two self-released cds later, The Piper Downs are ready for world conquest!

The Piper Downs place a premium on songwriting and exciting live shows. Their live shows are a blend of Foo Fighters rock and Barenaked Ladies humor with emphasis on audience participation - never a set list in sight, they play what the audience calls out. Twice they have been named the "Best Unsigned Band in Los Angeles," have appeared on radio, movies, and television shows, headlined the local stage at the Vans Warped Tour, opened for Sammy Hagar in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, and represented the United States in the Global Battle of the Bands in London, England. Bobby Bognar was born on May 28, 1970, at Fort Bragg Army Hospital in Fayetteville, NC, the son of Frank and Maryann Bognar.

Bobby attended Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA, and majored in theatre performance. While attending VCU, he sang lead for rock band Hanover Fiske. He left school to move to Los Angeles and form The Piper Downs.

In October, 2008, Bobby Bognar debuted as the host of Food Tech, an hour-long nonfiction look at food production, from field to plate. The TV show was produced by Actuality Productions, and broadcast by the History Channel.

Bobby Bognar currently resides in Hollywood, CA, still performing solo and with The Piper Downs.
